
TERRY V. COLES ISSA GROUP CHAIRMAN STATEMENT FOR THE YEAR 2003 (ISSUED MARCH 2004)
Overall, 2003 was a good year for ISSA Group due to the global economic picture. Financial markets also witnessed greater stability in 2003, a welcome change following the volatility and depressed state of 2001 and 2002. As a result, confidence has improved.
Several changes took place in 2003 in Board membership, Mr. John Douglas and Mr. Frank Bates resigned and Mr. Alfred Denis Moore retired after 12 years service with ISSA Group. The Board is immensely grateful to Mr. Moore for his huge contribution over the past 12 years; Mr. Moore was a founding member of ISSA Group.
Mr. Umeh Collins a Board member since 1998 was appointed in February 2003 Group Chief Executive of our Asian operations; Mr. Collins prior to this appointment was Managing Director of our Beijing and Hong Kong office. Mr. Collins previously worked in investment banking and brings to our growing Asian operations corporate finance experience and knowledge.
Mr. Jeremy Edwards was appointed to the Board in August 2003. Mr. Edwards previously work in the trade finance department of a major international bank and brings to ISSA Group US operations a new look and style of business for a more assertive strategy that he will need to build in the coming years with synergy between all our offices.
